ALL STAR GAME
OBSERVATIONS

EAST
WEST SHRINE
PLAYERS THAT POPPED
Josh
Johnson |
San Diego |
QB |
A
great athlete who can run (726 yards, 7.2 ypr) and pass.
Johnson showed good accuracy, good movement in the pocket, and
played well in the two-minute drill. He also had some dynamic
runs. He could force his way into day one of the draft. |

Marshall |
QB |
An
excellent athlete who is a good runner (488 yards in 2007),
Bernard had some very good moments, but was not as consistent as
he was in the Hula Bowl. I still like him as a
developmental quarterback. |

Kevin
O'connell |
San Diego
State |
QB |
It
was more of the same (Hula Bowl) for O'Connell, although he did
not look as good as he did in the Hula Bowl. He
moves well and looks more comfortable throwing on the run than
in the pocket. He continued to show enough skills to be an
intriguing developmental prospect. |

had a nice game and is an interesting player. He showed
quickness, was elusive but also showed toughness and returned
kicks. He has the look of a valuable role player in the
NFL. |

showed the skills to be a good third down back and return man.
He returned punts and kicks, and caught the ball extremely well.
He ran inside and showed the ability to bounce it outside. |

WR

Robinson
was the best player in the game. He had a dynamic punt
return for a touchdown, and also caught the ball well. He
is a real sleeper in the draft. I like him a lot. He
averaged 18.9 yards on 20 punt returns and 29.3 yards on 43 kick
returns in 2007. |

was talked up big before the Hula Bowl and didn't overly impress
me. However, even with a drop, he showed good pass
catching skills in this game. |

Langford
was the only player I saw who put somewhat consistent pressure
rushing the passer. He has the size to play the end in a
3-4 defense as he was listed at 6'6", 290 pounds on the
East West Shrine Game roster. |

was the defensive player of the game. He was all over the
field making tackles, hit hard, and showed good instincts
against the pass. He was also solid on special teams
coverage units. He should be a valuable sub at worst in
the NFL. |
